I DO have an opinion about sound quality here - I think it's FANTASTIC (YMMV)
This is my favorite recording of mine from the past year - I've wanted to do this song for a LONG time and the community songbook makes it possible. It's an emotional song, with many highs and lows, but the character is SUCH a self-absorbed, whiny idiot. It's a deliciously awful song to sing, and yet at the same time, the tragedy is nearly overwhelming. I LOVE songs like this one 
The Last Five Years is a musical about a couple's five year relationship, told in two different chronological directions - we watch Cathy from the end, we watch Jamie from the start.
In this song, which occurs near the end of the musical, Jamie has started cheating on Cathy, and tries to justify the reasons for doing so
