A journey back to the past...Round 1..." Let's Dance "

I was born in London in 1938 and lived there until I was 16 years old...I can remember the Streatham Locarno and the Hammersmith Palais, and looked forward to the time that I would be working and taking or meeting a girl at the dance...However just after my 16th. birthday my parents moved to the coast and we settled in Margate, a popular and bustling seaside resort, and it had two large dance halls, at the Winter Gardens, and at Dreamland !...In 1956 I was with my first real girl friend, and on Sunday nights we would go to Dreamland...I was now 18 years old, but couples were no longer waltzing, or fox trotting...they were Jiving !...Every Sunday night this record would sound out, the stage curtains would draw back, and local " Tommy Martin & his Meteors "...some sort of name like that, would be playing this tune !...We would jive away on the floor, girls dresses would fly up when they were spun around, revealing stocking tops and suspenders...Youngsters today...you ain't in the same league !..LOL!
Lovely memories of all those years ago, and now I can't remember what I did yesterday, or what day it is...LOL !
