I wasn't planning to meet anyone when I met my beloved late wife, Teresa, @10 years ago. A friend didn't want to join Match on their own, and asked me and another friend to join, so we did. I forgot to cancel after 6 months - which turned out to be great luck.

I had an Idina Menzel lyric quote for my profile headline (from the song "Gorgeous"), and it was one of the first, of many things, we connected with. She died in January. I still cannot believe I am a widow. I cannot adjust. How does one truly adjust to being widowed anyway?

Everyone told us we were so brave while she struggled not to die from cancer, but we hated hearing that. The battle language for cancer is a real downer to be honest. We did what we had to do; it wasn't brave. Neither of us felt brave. Neither of us wanted to be called brave.

And now I hear the same, that I must be brave now that I am alone. Or how brave I am by not crying in public. It has nothing to do with bravery, but I don't know if anyone who hasn't been widowed can get that.

Every day feels like the first day of the rest of my life. Over and over and over and over again.

But don't call me brave. I'm not.

But it still seemed like a good song to do tonight.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on how I sounded.

Thank you.

This is truly beautiful Amanda.
Such a sad song considering your recent devastating loss.
