Cladnar and Slim had gone back to Kansas because...they had some reason. Who knows. They stopped in Kansas City to get in touch with a girl who sang and played fiddle, in a band Cladnar played drums in, around 1975. They talked about the old days, as well as current, catching up. And then, somehow, they got on the subject of Led Zeppelin. Before the band that Cladnar and this girl played in, she sang and played fiddle in another band, that actually played warmup for Led Zeppelin in Kansas City sometime around 1970, 71'. The name of her band was "Morning Star". She told them her stories of the job and the boys were impressed, although Cladnar had heard some of them back when he and the girl had played together. As many people know, Led Zeppelin was known for trashing hotels, getting drunk, stoned and attracting many young girls. It just so happened that the Kansas City gig is one of the more famous, or infamous, if you will. Apparently John Bonham, the drummer for LZ often arrived at the concerts drunk on his butt and sometimes could barely get through the gig, which was the case of the Kansas City job. In fact he was so drunk, that roadies had to sit behind him and help hold him up on his drum seat. The three of them talked and laughed about the old times all evening until Slim suggested they go to a Karaoke bar for a drink and some sings. The girl said that would be fun, but they probably wouldn't want to hear her sing. Slim said he didn't mean just her, but him and Cladnar singing too. Her eyes popped wide open and she asked, "Do you mean, Mr. Cladnar that you can sing and never told us way back then?" Cladnar responded, "Well, I don't really sing that well, at least not as good as you, and actually I never knew I could sing. Never did it. It wasn't until discovering singsnap that I started really singing." She replied, "No way, and just what is singsnap?" Slim shouted, "LET'S JUST GO TO A KARAOKE BAR AND WE'LL EXPLAIN IT THERE, I'M THIRSTY!!!!"
Cladnar singing Led Zeppelin at the "Cowtown Ballroom Karaoke Saloon" in Kansas City: "I Can't Quit You Babe"
This story is based on true facts. The only thing that is not true is meeting the girl recently. She did in fact, perform with Led Zeppelin and she and Cladnar did also perform together...AND the story about John Bonham getting drunk and falling off his seat is true. It's in some of the LZ books.

Any zep really, but the bluesy numbers have a certain sway... to this day! This one in particular really got to me. I should sing it again soon. You're transporting me back to sophmore year in high school... I'm in my room, head between the speakers. Wow.

haaaaaaaaaaa! I thought that was going to be a Tarzan yodel the first time I heard it! Loved your story Cladnar! It is sure a shame you didn't sing way back when. When you get in public playing in your band, do you get bashful? I just have a feeling.. When you get home with just your pc in front of you, you loose all your inhibitions. ;)) I mean all of them! WooWee! This song proves it huh! This is hot & sexxxxxy! I'm sorry let me catch my breath a minute...
