I'm a disabled mama of two grown boys that are married with families of their own. I have 2 handsome little grandsons, 3 beautiful grand daughters. My grand kids ages are 4, 3, 2, 1, and newborn. I am married to a wonderful man that treats me like a queen so Yes, I am happily married. I am a Breast Cancer Survivor and have been Cancer free for 7 years, hence my background. I live in a little town called Westfield, N.C. which is right out side of Mount Airy, N.C. mostly known to others as Mayberry, N.C. Yes, Mount Airy, N.C. is where Andy Griffith and Donna Fargo were born and raised but moved away when they became famous. I was raised in church and my Mom and Dad went from church to church singing. When I was 4 years old, I started singing with my parents. When I got married, I turned away from God for a little while by hanging with the wrong crowd but I found my way back to God. After having my kids, I started traveling with my parents again to sing. At one time when we would go to sing, there were 13 of us. My brother, his wife, and 3 kids, Me, My husband, our 4 kids (my two and two by his first marriage), my Mom and Dad. We were known as The Gravely's and we might have been more of a small family choir but we really enjoyed singing for the Good Lord and God always richly blessed us all. I don't get to go to church now like I used too because of my health and not being able to set for but a short time on those hard pews whether they are padded or not. I have to either be reclined or lying down because I have a very bad back. I can't sing like I used too due to my C.O.P.D. but I still try to sing when I can. I LOVE TO SING, SINGING HELPS ME GET AWAY FROM ALL MY TROUBLES. My parents don't get to go to church or sing anymore because they are both stroke victims and they have other health issues. Mama has A-Fib and C.O.P.D and has to use oxygen all the time now and Daddy has Dementia and his speech is badly slurred and damage from all the mini strokes he has. He seems to be constantly having them but they are always in his sleep so we can't catch them in time. They cannot find a blood clot like mama had and they cannot figure out what is causing him to have the mini strokes. We were able to catch one and rushed him to the Emergency Department but they ran test and couldn't figure it out so they sent him to one of our bigger hospitals. There they kept him 5 days running all kinds of test and scans but could not figure out what is causing them. They said if it wasn't for the MRI showing he has had strokes they wouldn't believe me when I told them he was having strokes because they cannot find the cause. When they released him from the hospital, they sent him to a nursing home facility for 20 days of rehab for his speech and his balance when he walks. He is still a fall risk and falls all the time, I just thank God that he hasn't broken any bones while falling. I hope you enjoy what you hear in my recordings. Please leave me a comment so I will know you stopped by for a listen. I welcome both Good and Bad comments and no it won't hurt my feelings or make me mad. Bad comments let me know that I need more practice and work on my singing with certain songs. I am a Gospel, Bluegrass, Country singer but I do venture out and sing other genres from time to time so the bad comments will help me to know which genre needs more work. You don't have to click the Love it Button but if you do, only click it if it was a very good recording and it deserves the love. Keep me in your prayers. Thanks for listening! Much Love, Hugs, and Prayers To You all.
