As we have all these senses and tons of songs, there was a question on whether this theme could be extended… so, as per my norm, if we do, there is a twist…

This week's word? 'Perception'al' - as in 'sensory' Perception et al (description below) - the + Twister! heh.

For those who were not a part of last week’s challenge just joining us, you have free range :) Find and bring us songs featuring any of the five +2 (or more?) senses, 'touch, hear, see, smell, taste' - perception of space (balance, posture, muscle and eye movement)/perception of position and movement - touch receptors controlling impulses and reactions, speed, force, direction. …

And the Twister? Well, for those who did it last week, I want you to use ‘browse’ – you can check by artist or song title and… your entry must contain a letter from the spelling of the word ‘P E R C E P T I O N A L’ <---- that’s your ‘browse’ key letters… And the song must also feature the senses as above from last week.

I don’t know whether it will work but hey, there are still tons and tons of songs/artists doing a quick look last night. Question is, do they have the key words hidden in some way? I’d imagine most songs have some sort of ‘sense’ in them.

This challenge will run from Sunday 15th November to Sunday 22th November 2020.

This challenge is open to everyone – new and old, blue and gold

Everyone is still a winner – the winning is in the taking part, sharing, and caring.

The new challenge is in a 1- 3 -1 format.

One word – open to so much more! Harder for me than you!! :D The description will explain what/how?

Three songs – keep it down to three (spread out) for now, and let’s be fair. For each song you post, listen to three other people’s songs in the challenge, then post your second, do the same again and then your third. Find new people.

One Week – I recognise we are all busy, so, I want this to be a time to chill; drop in when you can and enjoy.

BONUS SONGS2 extra songs between WEDNESDAY and after – spread them out! Bonus songs must follow the theme and must also comply with 3 listens to each one added.

Please add your songs in the following format:

Name of Song - Artist:
Link:

Also, let us know the letter you chose for the song/artist!

The PLAYLIST will be written links to help accessibility and fairness to listens both ends and in the middle as people join us during the week. On Sunday, Mikeiii will add an automated one (if he is able) for those joining in late or anyone needing to catch up - enjoy the songs.

If you wish to link back to this challenge page in your song description that’s up to you. It does help!

There are THREE options
1) add a plain link… grab the url on the first page in your browser.

2) use the image I use up top – CODE:

[url=http://www.singsnap.com/karaoke/forum/topic/b61df8f2][IMG]http://i.imgur.com/P2OomK7m.jpg[/IMG] [/url]

NO BANNERS or CODES in the THREAD please.

3) alternative option - put it in your status. Giving you the ability to click it and come back here whilst spreading the word.

CODE for Status:

[url=http://www.singsnap.com/karaoke/forum/topic/b61df8f2]1-3-1 Challenge (No.8) [/url]

You don’t have to use any of these. However, it would be great if you introduce friends, especially if their songs you visited fit the theme. :)

Have a wonderful week!

EDIT: I thought I'd make it a little easier just now by adding 'A L' to 'PERCEPTION' offering a little more range for us having to work harder! :P

Do entry songs or artists need to START with one of the letters in "P E R C E P T I O N A L," or can they have one of those letters ANYWHERE in the song title or artist name?

In either event, this song would work, and it's my first entry:

RainBoKatchr

Ooo interesting question, Dave.

I hadn't thought that far ahead.

I kind of thought at the start of a word as in P = Please Mr Postman or PJ Harvey... just at the top of my head examples...but also, the chances are using 'browse' under Billy Preston you might find one, and Hands On You' might fit - definitely does with Ashley Monroe - don't know that song but I put it up in the player to find out who it was and I like it! , lol... that was my pin in the page attempt, doh!

So, the letters may begin any word that forms in the title and also might be part of a band or artists name but not necessarily their first name.

HOWEVER, I don't think we can mix a word up and use say 'Hands' and say it counts because there is an 'A' in it!

Does that help? Or give everyone a headache? Hahaha!

Ahhhh, I get it, I thought I have to look up the ancient song artifacts to locate this new
twister to the addition of this extended challenge . And I thought I might have to brush up on Chubby Checker's iconic song to decipher the clues but in the end it took Dave to clarify the mystery of the twist LOL , yeah Dave

And so the show must go on

1st song for Challenge No. 8 - PERCEPTIONAL

Originally this song was released as a single in 1973 then later on was included in the
Album - I GOT A NAME BY JIM CROCE, most of you knew that he died at age 30
during a tragic plane crash Sept 20, 1973. He released a number of memorable songs
before his tragic death including Bad, Bad Leroy Brown , Don't Mess Around With Jim,
Operator, Photographs and Memories, Time In A Bottle, and this favorite song of mine

I'LL HAVE TO SAY I LOVE YOU IN A SONG - JIM CROCE ( NEW RECORDING )

You went for Jim Croce - however, look at all those* 'I's, 'L', 'A', 'T', in the Title - Wooo-hooo!

One of my most favorite Jazz/Pop artist of the 70's, this singer/songwriter and
musician was very popular with his stories about many adventures and this song
is my favorite. The Album is Year of the cat, released in 1976, backed by excellent
musicians, take a special attention to Phil Kenzie on Sax

***

Just a wee note here... I'm trying to be sensitive, so forgive me if it appears I am being overly protective. It has been drawn to my attention that sometimes a different language may be used on comments to English.

It is not my place to understand what is being said and I do hope you are being warm and loving towards each other with your replies. Equally, because I do not understand what you are saying, some things could be posted on others songs that are not so reader friendly.

Do be mindful of your audience should you be inclined to use descriptions that are not female friendly!

Running away again, but hopeful that this will be understood in a way that does not cause any drama but extends the love that I know is being shared here in this challenge.

Good morning/afternoon/evening to all

2nd day and look at all these fantastic recordings ! It is a beautiful morning here
in the Maritimes and again it's so sunny and so bright, blue skies and a little
cool but that's the way I like it, fresh and crisp , sweater weather, we call it here

Caught up late last night for my listens and so far Wow

For my 3rd song - Challenge 8 - "PERCEPTIONAL"

I have admired this artist since about the time he released his first album. Born in
London, UK , Cat Stevens have written a number of beautiful songs and to this day
I still enjoy listening to a lot of his songs.

From the album TEA FOR TILLERMAN ( a tillerman is the steerman of a boat, usually
a boat that doesn't have a wheel ) Released in 1970, some of the popular songs in
this album contain WILD WORLD , HARD HEADED WOMAN , MILES FROM NOWHERE,
and this favorite song I am submitting as my next

"It's not time to make a change, just relax take it easy, You're still young, that's your
fault, there's so much you have to know. Find a girl, settle down if you want you can
marry, Look at me I am old but I'm happy "

"from the moment I could talk, I was ordered to listen, now there's a way and I know
that I have to go away"
